Cutie Pie!

My Favorite Things color challenge: cornflower, blue raspberry, coral crush and lemon chiffon.  Unfortunately the picture I took with my iPhone oversaturated the colors but they really are correct. I love this set!  Beast Friends, -Yeti's oh my!  Plus I used Blueprints 31, love blueprint die sets.  I can't wait to make more cards with this set for Christmas!

Thanksgiving

I just got this die and this is my first attempt to make this card.   Just a note to a friend I am thankful for!  Pop up box die by Lawn Fawn.  Leaves dies are by Spellbinders and paper, sunflower stamp and sentiment are by Stampin Up.

Coffee To Go Cup Die Card

This was a Simon Says Stamp Kit of the Month a while back and I just love this little die!  Saw a card on Pinterest and I made a pretty close copy of it.  They had a different coffee cup die and well I just used what I had for all of this.  Its nice to have enough "stuff" that I can substitute - dies, paper, stamps, embellishments... Fun!

Halloween card

I have one friend that really loves Halloween.  She even named her cat Halloween!  So I make a card for her every year. I don't send out Halloween cards but they are fun to make and its nice to have someone to send them to.  I also had my card making friends group over to make cards and made this tag for the goodie bags.  Love making tags.

Color Challenge Accepted

I recently purchased some wonderful stamps and dies from My Favorite Things (MFT).  I have purchased from them before of course - just wanted to use my recent fun things!  They have weekly challenges and I decided to play in this one.  It is a color challenge.  How fun!  I hope to win, would love to get more blueprints.  The scalloped edge and the white inner frame are dies from blueprints #27.  There are 8 dies in the set and you can mix and match them any way you like.  I love getting so many pieces in one set!  The flowers are from the flashy florals set.  I decided to use colored card stock to die cut this time rather than stamping the color on white card stock, just changing things up a bit.  I like the effect.  I am really pleased with how this turned out.  Thank you for looking!

Hello, it's been awhile!

Time flies when you're having fun (or busy as the case may more accurately be!). I just checked into my blog and it has been almost exactly a year since I last posted.  I am shocked!  Especially since I've made a couple hundred cards this year.  The most I've ever made in one year.  I have been helping out varying causes, some have auctioned my cards (and my friend's cards combined) for charity, some have been for my church group for notes and birthdays, some for ladies with breast cancer to use to thank friends that have been there for them.  Plus some I can't part with!  Here are two more recent cards with Fall colors.

Here are two cards using the Hero Arts newspaper background stamp I used in the previous post. Since I had the stamp out I wanted to use it again. The flowers are Heartfelt Creations, the printed paper is Basic Grey. I used mango colored prills in the center of the flowers. Just a couple of fun cards using most of the same products - with two different looks.

My friends and I have been playing with Penny Black watercolor flowers lately. They are so much fun to make and really look fantastic! I used a Hero Arts background stamp called newspaper on the second one which added a nice effect. I tried to make the cards simple because I wanted the flowers to stand out. Thanks for looking! Hello again! I wanted to share more cards I've recently made with Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies. These are Birds and Blooms and Majestic Blooms. I used an embossing powder called Guilded Ivory on the flowers and the birds that are stamped on vellum. The birds on vellum are colored from the back. I get so much enjoyment out of making these cards!

I am so excited! I just received my order of the new Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose set. I love flowers and these paper roses are so beautiful and easy to make. Here is my first card with the set. It is a full flower, see second picture with a view from the side to show dimension. I also used the glass shards that Emma Lou mentioned in her instructional video, I happened to have them but mine are called Diamond Dust by FloraCraft. Not sure you can see how sparkly they are! Just had to share!

Well Hello there! How is your Summer going? I know, it has been a very long time since I posted to my blog. Life has been interesting, we moved three times since I last posted here! I am in Texas now, and it is hot here in the summer. It is a longer summer too. However the spring and fall are beautiful. The winter is the same as NC though. This blog isn't about weather now is it? I'm just chatting this morning as I have really enjoyed reading other people's chatty blogs! I have made quite a few cards since moving to TX found a wonderful group of ladies to make cards with and that has motivated me to get back into it. Most of my cards are not original to me. I find cards on the internet and make my version of them using what I have on hand. Thats mostly why I quit blogging, I don't want the people who have made these cards to get mad! I think most of us CASE but it is a touchy subject with some. I will post some cards but I don't know who made the card I CASEd so take it with a grain of salt. If I do a fully original card you can probably tell LOL! I will tell you too. So not promising I will post frequently but here goes :) The fish card and the lighthouse card are my own designs.

Making Strawberry Freezer Jam

I am not a food blogger and I most certainly do not know how to take special photos for this but here goes! My BFF wanted to know all about making freezer jam and I told her it couldn't be easier, it can't - really! Seeing she is 3000 miles away this is a good way to show her. You need sugar, fruit-pectin, jars and fruit. The directions are on the pectin package. I am fortunate to have a strawberry farm a half of a mile from my house so off I went to pick fresh strawberries.

First you wash the strawberries and remove the stems.



Then you mix the sugar and pectin.




Then Mash the strawberries into a pulp as fine or lumpy as you like.



Measure out the mashed strawberries (I am also not a tidy cook!)



and put them into the sugar/pectin mix, stir for 3 minutes



and ladle into jars!




That's it! Let set 30 minutes and enjoy (as the fruit pectin package says). The freezer part is if you don't use up all of the the jam within 3 weeks you must freeze it.
