Colored Pencils on Kraft

So there is a current tutorial on coloring with colored pencils on Kraft paper and I wanted to try again.  I did this a few years ago but honestly I just don't practice enough to be good at it.  I watched two different videos and gave it a try and the results are ok, not as nice as the gals in the videos!  I think one of the problems is I don't have a big collection of colors.  I have 36 Prismacolors but not three shades of each colors and it doesn't match right.  I only have one gray and it is too blue...well anyway we will see if I remedy that situation!  I do love the look on Kraft!  This card isn't done,  I don't have any Valentines Day stamp expressions to finish it yet.  Just felt like posting it!

UPDATE:  Here is the finished card, I so liked the image to be the focal point I didn't add too much.

Christmas Cards - Blue

Here are the blue cards.  I did make a few small changes in several of these cards but they are pretty close to the ones I case'd.  The bottom one I substituted with the Yeti - gaaaaa love them!  The layered snowflakes and dies and also yeti are all my favorite things.

Christmas Cards

Hello!  I am not even sure if anyone looks at my blog anymore.  I used to be really involved in the card making community and ended up moving 3 times in 5 years and I have not blogged much until a little lately.  I am taking quick simple pictures here of my cards.  I am pretty sure all of these are case's of cards or with a few adjustments according to my supplies.  I have a bunch of cards made with my favorite things layered snowflakes, these are the "pink" ones.  I  will show blue next time. There is also a card that is from stamp simply ribbon store and Sharon made it and this is a total case of her card - I take no creative credit for any of these, just enjoyed making them!  I will post the blue cards tomorrow.

Pink Yeti Christmas

Here are the Yeti's in pink.  I also took the picture of the pink one next to the blue one just to compare. I like them both!  I thought pink would be weird for Christmas but with this cute paper by My Minds Eye called Sugarplum is perfect!  Off to create more Christmas cards, I am enjoying it this year.  I didn't put constraints on it, I'm doing it in my spare time for fun.  I had family pictures made into cards this year and will send a few handmade ones to special friends and family :)

More Yeti Cuteness!

I am having so much fun with this My Favorite Things Beast Friends set!  It took a while to make this card and my friend who is not a card maker couldn't understand why this takes several hours.  Well here ya go, stamping, coloring, die cutting, more die cutting, more die cutting... but that's what I love.  The dies here are the card pop up box, the rectangles to go on the box, snow drifts, tree line, layered snowflakes and the yeti's.  I posted a couple pictures of my workspace as I got the various  parts prepared.  Hopefully she understands now - hard to explain otherwise!  I will be making more of this, already started on a pink one.  I am so pleased with how this turned out, too cute again!

Cutie Pie!

My Favorite Things color challenge: cornflower, blue raspberry, coral crush and lemon chiffon.  Unfortunately the picture I took with my iPhone oversaturated the colors but they really are correct. I love this set!  Beast Friends, -Yeti's oh my!  Plus I used Blueprints 31, love blueprint die sets.  I can't wait to make more cards with this set for Christmas!

Thanksgiving

I just got this die and this is my first attempt to make this card.   Just a note to a friend I am thankful for!  Pop up box die by Lawn Fawn.  Leaves dies are by Spellbinders and paper, sunflower stamp and sentiment are by Stampin Up.

Coffee To Go Cup Die Card

This was a Simon Says Stamp Kit of the Month a while back and I just love this little die!  Saw a card on Pinterest and I made a pretty close copy of it.  They had a different coffee cup die and well I just used what I had for all of this.  Its nice to have enough "stuff" that I can substitute - dies, paper, stamps, embellishments... Fun!

Halloween card

I have one friend that really loves Halloween.  She even named her cat Halloween!  So I make a card for her every year. I don't send out Halloween cards but they are fun to make and its nice to have someone to send them to.  I also had my card making friends group over to make cards and made this tag for the goodie bags.  Love making tags.

Color Challenge Accepted

I recently purchased some wonderful stamps and dies from My Favorite Things (MFT).  I have purchased from them before of course - just wanted to use my recent fun things!  They have weekly challenges and I decided to play in this one.  It is a color challenge.  How fun!  I hope to win, would love to get more blueprints.  The scalloped edge and the white inner frame are dies from blueprints #27.  There are 8 dies in the set and you can mix and match them any way you like.  I love getting so many pieces in one set!  The flowers are from the flashy florals set.  I decided to use colored card stock to die cut this time rather than stamping the color on white card stock, just changing things up a bit.  I like the effect.  I am really pleased with how this turned out.  Thank you for looking!

Hello, it's been awhile!

Time flies when you're having fun (or busy as the case may more accurately be!). I just checked into my blog and it has been almost exactly a year since I last posted.  I am shocked!  Especially since I've made a couple hundred cards this year.  The most I've ever made in one year.  I have been helping out varying causes, some have auctioned my cards (and my friend's cards combined) for charity, some have been for my church group for notes and birthdays, some for ladies with breast cancer to use to thank friends that have been there for them.  Plus some I can't part with!  Here are two more recent cards with Fall colors.

Here are two cards using the Hero Arts newspaper background stamp I used in the previous post. Since I had the stamp out I wanted to use it again. The flowers are Heartfelt Creations, the printed paper is Basic Grey. I used mango colored prills in the center of the flowers. Just a couple of fun cards using most of the same products - with two different looks.

My friends and I have been playing with Penny Black watercolor flowers lately. They are so much fun to make and really look fantastic! I used a Hero Arts background stamp called newspaper on the second one which added a nice effect. I tried to make the cards simple because I wanted the flowers to stand out. Thanks for looking!
