This card design is from Laura Stranks - Creative Gems on YouTube. The idea on the inside it to have one continuous scene from top to bottom and I knew the perfect flower paper that would work. This paper is a few years old, Fine Art Floral. I think this is such a cool card.
I decided to join a swap and the rules are to make this card but use any design, theme etc. I used that paper again, several different colors in the set to choose from. I used Highland Heather as a base and the matts are wild wasabi - a color I wish they still had! I think it goes so much better with this paper. I colored the flowers with alcohol markers and punched some gold dots for the centers to go with the flowers on the DSP. I cant wait to see what I get in the swap.
I made this card for my husband for our 37th wedding anniversary. It is slightly tricky, but very nice outcome versus the regular pinwheel card.
That's what I am calling it. I used a My Favorite Things Die called Blue Prints 33. The Stampin Up folks are using a hexagon punch. There are a lot of these cards being posted! I really loved how this turned out, I used mirror card stock and Lily Impressions DSP from Stampin Up.
This is a card the Patty Bennett made. I think she might like this paper and set as much as I do! Her tutorial was about water coloring the flower and this diamond shaped style front. I used the 2nd method she mentioned where I put a drop of ink in different shades on the glass mat and spritzed it with water then dragged the paper through the wet ink. Smearing it around a little. Then when it was dry I stamped and die cut out the flowers and leaves. Its a nice fold and her method is quite easy to follow along and make. Look her up on YouTube.
I saw a card on Pinterest and thought it was so elegant so I made it but made some changes to fit what I have in my stash. This is one of those cards that is deceptively simple, I mean it is but its a lot of layers. I used a scallop edge die, an embossing folder, dies for the sentiment, die for the flowers, stamps including digging out an old large background stamp, lots of paper cutting so a mess on my desk! Its also colors I am not drawn to, but it works so well. Turned out pretty!
I have seen this card by other names but this is the name I remember! I made this back at Christmas time, for some reason the directions for that one didnt work as well as this one. That one kept getting stuck, this one no problems and easier. I love this Cute as a Bug set, always wanting to make cards with it but I dont know who to send them to. Would you like a card with bugs on it? I mean they are cute...
So this card came up a few days after the side gatefold card I just posted. Same card but this has the addition of the slider part on the inside. Interesting! Super easy to make.
This is a gatefold card that is to the side or off-center. Nothing fancy, used Floral Charm Stampin Up DSP and Charming Day flower stamp.
Now here is a fun fold card! At least a little more challenging. It is by Laura Stranks of Creative Gems on YT. I was brave and used the good paper to just make the card without testing it first. I do have a slight error but I was able to smush it into shape. Next time I will know but I doubt anyone can tell thank goodness. I colored the stamped images on front with Stampin Blends and the inside die cuts I used blender brushes with ink.
This card was made from a tutorial by Patty Bennett. She did not have a name for it. I called it a Diamond front for reference. Super easy, one piece of DSP 5.5 x 12, score at 2,4,8,10 and fold mountain valley then fold over the corners on the front gate fold part.
This card has no name from the tutorial I followed. I made a sympathy card, the paper, stamp and die set is Lovely and Beautiful from Stampin Up. The Card with the car is for my Father-in-Law who is turning 84. The technique to make this card is so fun! I made it a few years ago and have held onto it for some reason (hard to part with maybe?) so I dont remember what the technique is called.
This is a relatively easy card to make but many years ago I bought the die set to make this. Birthday card for my friend's daughter. I downloaded the cat images from Creativ Fabrica, they are my new favorite way to use images. I have been coloring stamped images for 20 plus years with every medium known and I just don't think I do a good enough job. They dont look professional. I still do color images just sometimes these are better.
Card instructions from Laura Stranks, Creative Gems. I saw another Stampin Up demo do it and call it a spanner (?) card. This one is for a friend whose doggy went over the rainbow bridge and she is very heartbroken. She is also a card maker so I got right on it and made this.
