Valentine “Love Machine”

Sam Calcott has a YouTube video making this, she is so clever! She is in the UK. Easy to make, just 14 boxes are a bit tedious to make but I didnt mind. Anyway this is so fun, you pull out the little boxes on each day leading up to Valentines Day and get a treat!

Here is the “machine” as it stands then…

You lift the tab up following the arrow and you can access the boxes.

DIY Surprise Card Thank You Card

This is what the card is called on YouTube if you want to look for the directions. I liked making it, didn’t take too long. Decorating took twice as long! That’s always the hard part. I used the Cute as a Bug set from Stampin Up  oh and I scrambled the wording as I wrote a thank you note before I took pictures!  It looks like weird black squiggles. Anyway its cute when the little tabs pop up with the bugs.

Card Folio with Cute as a Bug Designer Paper

Remember the card folio I did a few months ago? Well I made another one!  This is a thick and substantial card.

I will explain the layers.

This is the first layer open.

This is with the sides fully open, they fold out twice and also the bottom folded open.

This is with the note card pulled out.

This is the back of the card opened up. Thanks for looking!

Valentine Explosion Box with lots of Pockets

This box was quite a lot of little extras! All the pockets and things to go in them, it was so much fun to create.  I followed a video on YouTube called Vintage explosion box tutorial.  Her step by step instruction was perfect!  All in centimeters and no voice just good written pictures in the video.  I am going to try to point out and explain the pockets a little bit under each picture.

Outside of box, made an easel to prop up the heart.

Opened, see the next box inside.

First box fully opened, you can see all four flaps with their tuck-ins.

This is with all of the tuck-ins pulled out. starting at 12:00 the pink flap lifts then there is a three layer fold out which zig zags to open. You can put pictures, stickers, write notes, etc.  At 3:00 there are two little note papers to pull out. At 6:00 two more little notes that are folded in half to pull out and it opens to a note area inside. At 9:00 is a little shutter card that has two sides when you open it.

This is the second box opened up showing the 5 additional pockets.

At 12:00 you lift the tab and the heart opens up to a 3 layer pull out note paper. At 3:00 the red band slides off and the envelope opens to expose and little note card to pull out.  At 6:00 is a waterfall card. Slide it sideways and each page opens up.  At 9:00 the 4 curved pieces open up to a note card. lots of places to put notes or pictures etc. available!

This is the center of the box, it opens with three pieces of paper that on the diagonal opens up to a place for four more notes or pictures etc. of your choice.

I loved making this, waiting for some paper to be shipped to make another one!

Gatefold Pop Up with Pocket

I saw a folio that had this pocket on the front to hold the gatefold page closed in their folio. I thought it would be great for a card! Someone may be making cards like this out there, but I’ve never seen one. I’ve only seen it this once on a folio. I think it’s genius, this way you don’t have to have a belly band or magnets to hold the card closed. I am using the sweet bugs/ cute as a bug set again I thought to myself why did I spend this money on bugs for paper and I have not stopped using it it, is so fun. So good purchase after all. There are so many things you can do with these little critters and the paper is awesome! So here is my card. The gatefold is from Creative Gems -Laura Stranks, called Floating Gatefold Double Pop-Up

Happy New Year

Here is a New Year Card using some of the Christmas designer paper but I think it works because it looks wintery. Besides I wanted to use more of that mirror card stock! Happy New Year!
